Microsoft Word 2016 - Level 1 course aims to give the learner a sound grounding in the use of Microsoft Word 2016 to create everyday documents required either at work or at home. Particular emphasis is placed on developing accurate and well-designed documents. The course begins by showing the learner how to navigate around Microsoft Word 2016. It then quickly gets the learner to create a new document before moving onto features such as formatting text and paragraphs, document proofing, controlling page appearance and viewing and printing documents.

This course assumes little or no knowledge of Microsoft Word 2016. However, it would be beneficial to have a general understanding of personal computers and the operating system environment, especially in regard to working with files and folders.

You will: Navigate and perform common tasks in Word, such as opening, viewing, editing, saving, and printing documents, and configuring the application. Format text and paragraphs. Perform repetitive operations efficiently using tools such as Find and Replace, Format Painter, and Styles. Enhance lists by sorting, renumbering, and customising list styles. Create and format tables. Insert graphic objects into a document, including symbols, special characters, illustrations, pictures, and clip art. Use Word features to help identify and correct problems with spelling, grammar, readability, and accessibility.
